We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17012346. Our registered office is Unit 4, Drakes Court, Eagle Road, Langage industrial estate, Plymouth, Devon, PL7 5JY. Our VAT registration number is 513 3432 30.

Scope of these terms
These terms apply to your use of our website and to products purchased directly from us through the website, by telephone, by email or through an agreed quotation.
A “consumer” is an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. A “trade customer” is a business, architect, interior designer, developer, contractor, specifier, reseller or any other person acting for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession.
If you are a trade customer, our separate Trade Account Terms also apply. If there is a conflict, the Trade Account Terms take priority for the trade purchase concerned.
Our Delivery Information, Returns & Refunds Policy, Warranty Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of these terms where applicable.

Product information and finishes
We take reasonable care to describe and display products accurately. Images, drawings, dimensions, colour representations and finish samples are illustrative, however, and may not reproduce the physical product exactly. Screen settings, photography and production methods can affect how a finish appears.
Products made from or incorporating brass, bronze, copper, timber, stone, ceramic, glass, leather, fabric and other natural, cast, machined, plated or hand-finished materials may display variation in tone, texture, grain, markings and surface character. These differences are part of the material or making process and are not necessarily defects.
Some finishes are “living finishes” designed to develop a patina and change through exposure, handling, cleaning and age. Products manufactured in separate batches may also vary. Where close consistency is important, particularly for a room or project, we recommend ordering the required quantity together.
Minor variations that do not materially affect the product’s appearance, safety or function do not entitle you to reject the product, except where your legal rights provide otherwise.
Customer
Suitability, compatibility and installation
You are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for its intended application before ordering and before installation. Relevant considerations may include dimensions, available installation space, back-box size and depth, voltage, electrical load, lamp type, driver or transformer requirements, dimmer and control compatibility, IP rating, bathroom zone, outdoor or coastal conditions, door thickness, spindle dimensions, fixings and substrate.
General guidance from us does not replace a site survey, technical assessment or the professional judgement of your architect, designer, contractor or installer. Where you tell us about a specific purpose and rely on our written recommendation, your statutory rights are not affected.
Fixed electrical products must be installed, tested and commissioned by a suitably qualified and competent electrician in accordance with the supplied instructions and all applicable electrical, wiring, building and safety requirements. Other products must be fitted by a suitably competent installer using appropriate fixings and methods for the installation surface and application.
Products must not be installed if they appear damaged, incomplete, incorrect or unsuitable. Installation, cutting, drilling, wiring, shortening, refinishing or other modification may prevent a non-faulty product from being returned and may invalidate the applicable warranty where the modification causes or contributes to a fault.
Customer
Project support, schedules and advice
We may assist with product selections, quotations, schedules, presentations, drawings, specifications, quantities and project coordination. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, this support is based on information supplied by you or your professional team and does not constitute architectural, engineering, electrical, quantity-surveying or installation services.
You are responsible for checking all plans, dimensions, quantities, product references, finishes, compatibility requirements and installation conditions before approving a quotation, schedule or order. We do not carry out a site survey merely because we review plans, photographs or drawings.
An approved written quotation or final product schedule takes priority over preliminary discussions, mood boards, presentations or earlier drafts. Changes requested after approval may affect price, availability and delivery times.
Customer
Orders and formation of the contract
Your order is an offer to purchase products from us. An automated acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order; it does not mean that we have accepted it.
A binding contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation accepting the order or, if earlier, when we dispatch the products. Each separately dispatched group of products may form a separate contract.
We may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance if, for example, a product is unavailable, there is an obvious pricing or description error, payment is not authorised, delivery restrictions apply or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse. If we have taken payment for an order we do not accept, we will refund it.
Please check the order confirmation promptly and contact us immediately if anything is incorrect.
Customer
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT. Delivery charges and any other applicable charges will be shown before you submit the order.
We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect an order we have already accepted, except where a change in VAT or another applicable tax is required by law.
Despite reasonable care, a product may occasionally be incorrectly priced. If an error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as a mistake, we may cancel the order and refund any payment made, or invite you to purchase at the correct price.
Payment must be made using a method offered at checkout or otherwise agreed by us. You confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method. Online card payments are processed securely by our primary payment provider, Stripe, and may be subject to Stripe’s own terms and privacy notice.
Customer
Availability and product changes
All products are subject to availability. Stock indications and supplier lead times are estimates and may change before an order is accepted or while a backordered or made-to-order item is being produced.
Manufacturers may make minor technical, regulatory, material or packaging changes that do not materially reduce a product’s quality, appearance or performance. We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
If a product becomes unavailable or discontinued, we will contact you and may offer an alternative. You do not have to accept the alternative and may cancel the affected undelivered product for a refund.
Customer
Delivery
We currently deliver to the locations described in our Delivery Information. International sales are not covered by these terms unless we expressly agree them in writing.
Delivery dates and lead times are estimates unless we expressly agree a fixed date in writing. We will deliver without undue delay and, for consumer orders, within 30 days after the contract is formed unless a different delivery period has been agreed with you.
Orders containing products with different availability dates may be held and delivered together or divided into separate deliveries. We may make partial or phased deliveries where reasonable. We will tell you if this materially affects the delivery charge or timing.
You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address and any access information reasonably required. We are not responsible for delay or additional cost caused by inaccurate information, unsafe access or your failure to accept delivery, although this does not affect any rights you have as a consumer.
Please do not arrange installers or trades until all required products have arrived and have been checked. We are not responsible for avoidable appointment, labour or project costs incurred before delivery and inspection, except where the law does not permit that responsibility to be excluded.
Customer
Risk and ownership
For consumers, responsibility for the products passes to you when they are delivered to you or to a person you identify to receive them. Ownership passes when we receive payment in full.
Customer
Consumer cancellation rights
This section applies only if you are a consumer buying at a distance, for example online, by telephone or by email.
In most cases, you may cancel the contract without giving a reason from the date the contract is formed until 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you, receives the products. Where one order is delivered in separate parts, the period usually runs from receipt of the final part.
To cancel, you must clearly tell us before the cancellation period expires. You may contact us at [email protected] or use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms, although use of the form is not compulsory.
After cancelling, you must return the products within 14 days. Unless the products are faulty, incorrect or otherwise not conforming to the contract, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them. We may withhold the refund until we receive the products or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first.
We will refund the product price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. We do not have to refund any additional amount paid for an enhanced delivery service. A refund may be reduced to reflect loss in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the products.
We will make the refund using the original payment method, no later than 14 days after receiving the returned products or evidence of their return.
Products excluded from the cancellation right
The statutory cancellation right does not apply to products made to your specifications or clearly personalised. This may include products cut to a requested length, specially drilled, engraved, refinished, wired, assembled or manufactured to a bespoke drawing, configuration or specification, where the product is genuinely made or altered specifically for you.
An ordinary standard product is not treated as bespoke merely because it is obtained from a supplier after you place your order. We will identify any product that is excluded from cancellation before the order is placed or before you approve the relevant quotation.
Customer
Our 30-day returns policy
In addition to your legal rights, consumers may request a return of an eligible non-faulty product within 30 days of receiving it, in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Products must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified, complete and returned with all accessories, instructions and original protective packaging. You should take reasonable care of the products while they are in your possession.
Non-faulty products that have been installed, wired, cut, drilled, shortened, painted, refinished or otherwise altered cannot normally be accepted under the goodwill policy. Bespoke and personalised products are also excluded unless faulty or otherwise not conforming to the contract.
We aim to process an approved refund promptly and, in any event, within 14 days after we receive the returned products. This goodwill policy does not reduce or replace your statutory rights.
Customer
Damaged, incorrect or missing items
Please inspect the delivery promptly and check product codes, quantities, finishes, dimensions and visible condition before installation. Keep the products and packaging together while any issue is investigated.
Please report transit damage, an incorrect item or a missing item within 48 hours of delivery where reasonably possible, with photographs of the product, packaging and delivery label. Prompt reporting helps us investigate the issue and pursue the carrier, but failure to report within 48 hours does not remove any statutory rights you may have.
Do not install a product you believe is damaged or incorrect. Contact us at [email protected].
Customer
Faulty goods and statutory rights
Consumer products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose made known to us and match their description. If a product does not conform to the contract, you may have legal rights to reject it, or to require a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances and timing.
Nothing in these terms, our returns policy or a manufacturer’s warranty limits your statutory rights. We will bear reasonable return costs where you validly reject faulty goods in accordance with those rights.
We may inspect or test a product before confirming the appropriate remedy. Damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, unsuitable controls or supply conditions, unauthorised alteration, incorrect cleaning, accidental damage or fair wear and tear is not a product fault.
Customer
Product warranties
Products may carry different warranty periods according to their type, components, intended application and manufacturer. The applicable warranty period will be stated on the product page, order documentation or our Warranty Policy.
Warranty claims normally require proof of purchase and evidence that the product was installed, used and maintained in accordance with the instructions and applicable standards. We may ask for photographs, installation information, test results or return of the product.
Product warranties apply only to the original purchaser named on the proof of purchase and are non-transferable.
Unless the Warranty Policy states otherwise, warranty cover does not extend to lamps or consumable components, normal wear and tear, natural ageing or patination, cosmetic variation, accidental damage, misuse, incorrect storage, unsuitable environmental conditions, power surges, incompatible controls, incorrect installation or maintenance, unauthorised repair or alteration, or damage caused by third-party products.
Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, the available remedy may be repair, replacement with the same or an equivalent product, or a refund where repair or replacement is not reasonably available. A replacement product does not automatically begin a new warranty period unless the Warranty Policy expressly says so.
Our product warranties are additional to, and do not affect, consumers’ statutory rights.

Complaints
We want to resolve concerns fairly and promptly. Please send complaints to [email protected] or write to Unit 4, Drakes Court, Eagle Road, Langage industrial estate, Plymouth, Devon, PL7 5JY, including your order number, contact details and a clear description of the issue.
We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate it and provide a substantive response as soon as reasonably possible. If further information is required, we will explain what is needed.
We do not currently commit to using a particular alternative dispute resolution provider. This does not affect your right to pursue any legal remedy available to you.

General legal terms
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force when we accept your order will apply to that order. Updated website-use terms apply from the date they are published.
Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control. We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible, take steps to minimise the effect and, where the delay is substantial, explain any right you have to cancel the affected order.
Transfer of rights
We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract to another organisation, but this will not reduce your rights. You may only transfer your rights or obligations with our written agreement, except where the law permits otherwise.
Third-party rights
No person other than you and us has a right to enforce the contract.
Severability
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
No waiver
If we delay enforcing a right, that does not mean we have waived it.
Entire agreement
These terms and the documents expressly incorporated into them form the agreement between you and us for the relevant purchase. This does not exclude liability for fraud and does not limit any consumer right that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by English law. If you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory local law and may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Otherwise, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction.

About us and application of these terms
These Trade Account Terms are issued by SW1 Lightworks Limited, trading as SW1 Lightworks (“SW1”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
They apply where you purchase as a business, architect, interior designer, developer, contractor, specifier, reseller or other person acting for purposes relating to a trade, business, craft or profession (“Trade Customer”, “you” or “your”).
These terms apply alongside our general Terms & Conditions, the relevant quotation, order confirmation and any written project schedule. If there is a conflict, the following order of priority applies: any specific written variation signed or expressly accepted by us; the order confirmation; the final quotation or schedule; these Trade Account Terms; and the general Terms & Conditions.
Consumer cancellation rights and our consumer goodwill returns policy do not apply to Trade Customers.
Trade
Trade accounts
Trade accounts are subject to application, eligibility checks and approval. We may request company, professional, credit or identity information and may refuse, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary.
Trade pricing, benefits, product access and service levels may vary and may be changed or withdrawn. They are personal to the approved account and must not be shared, transferred or used to purchase on behalf of an undisclosed third party without our agreement.
You must keep account information accurate and credentials secure, and tell us promptly about unauthorised use.
Trade
Quotations, orders and contract formation
Project quotations are normally valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated on the quotation. A quotation is not an offer capable of acceptance and does not reserve stock unless we confirm a reservation in writing.
Your purchase order, approval of a quotation or checkout submission is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we issue an order confirmation accepting it or dispatch the products, whichever occurs first.
Your own purchase-order terms or other standard terms do not apply unless we expressly agree to them in writing. No oral statement or informal discussion varies the contract.
You are responsible for checking the final quotation, schedule and order confirmation, including product codes, descriptions, quantities, finishes, prices, delivery address and timing. Notify us immediately of any discrepancy.
Trade
Prices, VAT and payment
Displayed prices include VAT unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges and any other applicable charges will be shown or otherwise notified before the order is accepted.
Payment is due in full before dispatch. Any credit facility is discretionary, may be subject to a credit limit and may be reduced, suspended or withdrawn at any time. Online card payments are processed by our primary payment provider, Stripe, and may be subject to Stripe’s applicable processing terms.
If payment is overdue, we may suspend orders, deliveries, project work or account access and may charge statutory interest and reasonable debt-recovery costs to the extent permitted by law. You must pay undisputed sums without set-off, counterclaim or deduction.
We may require a deposit or full payment for bespoke, made-to-order, specially sourced or high-value products.
Trade
Product information, samples and finishes
Images, samples, finish plates, drawings, specifications and dimensions are representative unless expressly warranted in writing. Natural, cast, machined, plated and hand-finished materials may vary in tone, texture, grain, patina and surface character. Living finishes will change through handling, cleaning, environment and age.
Samples indicate general appearance but do not guarantee an exact match. Batch variation may occur, so quantities requiring close visual consistency should be ordered together. Reasonable natural or production variation is not a defect.
Manufacturers may make minor technical, regulatory, material or packaging changes that do not materially reduce quality, appearance or performance. We will not knowingly substitute a materially different product without agreement.
Trade
Suitability, compatibility and installation
You are responsible for establishing that products are suitable for the project and compatible with all other products, systems and site conditions. This includes dimensions, back boxes, electrical supply and load, lamps, drivers, transformers, dimmers, controls, IP ratings, bathroom zones, environmental exposure, door and furniture dimensions, fixings and substrates.
Fixed electrical products must be installed, tested and commissioned by a suitably qualified and competent electrician. Other products must be fitted by an appropriately competent installer in accordance with instructions and all applicable regulations and standards.
You must ensure that products are inspected and confirmed as correct, complete, undamaged and suitable before installation or modification. We are not responsible for defects or loss caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable controls or supply conditions, misuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect cleaning, inadequate maintenance or failure to follow instructions.
Trade
Project support, schedules and quantities
Any product selection, schedule, presentation, specification, estimate, quantity or project coordination we provide is based on information supplied by you or your professional team. Unless expressly agreed in a separate written appointment, we do not provide architectural, engineering, electrical, quantity-surveying, site-survey or installation services.
You remain responsible for checking site conditions, plans, measurements, quantities, technical requirements and compliance before approval and installation. We are not responsible for errors or omissions in information provided to us or for changes made after approval.
An approved final quotation or schedule takes priority over earlier drafts, discussions, mood boards and presentations.
Trade
Availability, backorders and product changes
Availability and lead times are estimates. Supplier production, shipping, customs, component availability or other circumstances may cause change. We will use reasonable efforts to keep you informed of material delays.
We may deliver available products separately from backordered or made-to-order products. Separate or phased deliveries may be invoiced and paid for individually.
If a product becomes unavailable or discontinued, we may propose an alternative. You may reject a materially different alternative and cancel the affected undelivered item. Cancellation of one item does not automatically cancel the remainder of the order.
Trade
Delivery, risk and ownership
Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly confirmed as fixed in writing. Time is not of the essence unless we expressly agree otherwise. We may make partial or phased deliveries.
You must provide accurate delivery details, safe and reasonable access, and suitable personnel or equipment for receipt where required. If you fail to accept delivery, we may store, redeliver, return or dispose of the products and charge the reasonable resulting costs.
Risk passes to you on delivery to the agreed location or collection by you or your nominated carrier. Ownership does not pass until we have received in cleared funds all sums due to us for the products and any other sums then due.
Until ownership passes, you must hold the products securely, separately and identifiable as our property, keep them insured and not dispose of, charge or encumber them. Subject to applicable insolvency law, we may require their return if payment becomes overdue.
Do not commit installers or other project costs until all necessary products have arrived and been inspected. Subject to the liability clause below, we are not responsible for avoidable labour, appointment, delay or project costs incurred before inspection or caused by estimated lead times.
Trade
Inspection, shortages and transit damage
You must inspect each delivery promptly and, where reasonably possible, notify us in writing within 48 hours of visible transit damage, shortages or incorrect products, providing photographs of the products, packaging and delivery labels.
Latent defects must be reported promptly after discovery. You must not install or modify a product that appears damaged, incorrect or unsuitable. Prompt notice is required so we can investigate and preserve claims against carriers and suppliers, but it does not exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Trade
Cancellations, amendments and returns
Once accepted, an order may not be cancelled or amended without our written agreement. We may require payment of costs already incurred, supplier cancellation charges, loss in value and reasonable administration costs.
Bespoke, made-to-order, specially sourced, cut, drilled, engraved, refinished, wired, assembled or otherwise personalised products cannot be cancelled or returned once production, sourcing or modification has begun, except where faulty or not conforming to the contract.
Non-faulty trade returns require prior written authorisation. If we agree a return, products must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified, complete, in resaleable condition and in original protective packaging. We may apply a reasonable restocking, handling or supplier charge notified before authorisation. Unauthorised returns may be refused or returned at your cost.
Trade
Warranties
The applicable warranty period and conditions are stated on the product page, order documentation or in our Warranty Policy. Manufacturer warranties may vary by product and component.
A claim must be supported by proof of purchase and reasonable evidence that the product was correctly stored, installed, commissioned, used and maintained. We may require photographs, test information, installer details or return of the product for inspection.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, warranty cover excludes normal wear and tear, lamps and consumables, natural ageing and patination, cosmetic variation, accidental damage, misuse, incorrect storage, unsuitable or onerous environments, power surges, incompatible controls, incorrect installation or maintenance, unauthorised repair or alteration, and damage caused by third-party products.
For a valid claim, our obligation is, at our option, to repair the product, replace it with the same or a reasonably equivalent product, or credit or refund the price paid for the affected product where repair or replacement is not reasonably available.
Trade
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for loss of profit, sales, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill, reputation, data or opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss.
Subject to the first paragraph of this clause, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with an order, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, will not exceed 100% of the total price paid or payable for the products under that order.
We are not liable for installation, removal, reinstallation, access, making-good, professional or project-delay costs unless we expressly accept responsibility for them in writing or such liability cannot lawfully be excluded. You are expected to mitigate loss and not incur avoidable costs.
Trade
Events outside our reasonable control
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control, including supplier failure, shortage of materials, transport disruption, industrial action, utility or communications failure, fire, flood, epidemic, war, civil disorder, government action or import/export restriction. We will use reasonable efforts to mitigate the effect and resume performance.
Trade
Confidentiality and intellectual property
Each party must keep confidential information received from the other confidential and use it only for the contract, except where disclosure is required by law or to professional advisers under equivalent duties of confidentiality.
All intellectual property in our website, catalogues, presentations, schedules, drawings, product data and other materials remains owned by us or our licensors. You may use project-specific materials internally for the project for which they were supplied, but may not reproduce, publish, resell or exploit them for another purpose without permission.
